Diatomite

Diatomite is the name given to the micro amorphous silica bed formed by a peculiar mechanism flower plant called diatoms. Diatomaceous earth, Kieselguhr, Silicieous or infusorial earth and fossilfour are the common names given to this earth. Light clay name also common in mineral market.

Filtrocem quality is produced from selective high grade diatomite mineral lumps and the same is further processed & pulverised to fine of 300 mesh making it suitable for various industrial uses. It is Creamy white, light density, porus and highly absorbent silica flour.

This item also import in trade names Hyflosupercel, Colite, Dicalite Perlite etc. Now the same has nearly been replaced by indigenous filter earths of Rajasthan, Origin and extensively used specially as filteraid for clarification of food products like beverages, fruit juices, syrups. Filteraid products based on Filtracel, diatomite earth are also suitable for filtering chemical, liquours, organic & inorganic chemicals depending on reactivity of inorganic substances present in it.

Filtrocem density is also wonderful for its application. As an absorbent, being high porosity. Its occupying large surface area and its utility in paints & enamels of high grade. For pesticides industries also useful as a filler.

The low thermal conductivity of the material makes it useful in refractory for insulating bricks for furnaces and sound insulation. As a filler it has extensive use in paper, rubber and plastic, soap industries etc.

For removal of suspended impurities etc. it has vide scope of uses in effulent treatment, vegetable and oil industries etc.

It is carrier for disinfectants, absorbent filler aid of gases in acetylene gas manufacturing and mild abrasive & polishing for metalic items in brake lining auto industry.
